Job Overview

The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing the buffet line, serving customers, and making sure the line is well-kept and clean.  This person is also responsible for taking food orders for our inpatient department and preparing and delivering trays.  The Food Service Worker is also responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen and dining areas, washing dishes and equipment, and ensuring all health department rules are followed at all times.

 

This position is per diem (on call), non-exempt and benefits eligible.  The pay range for this position is $18.00/hour - $19.66/hour.  Compensation is based on years of experience and departmental equity.  

Responsibilities

The position of Food Service Worker performs a variety of tasks associated with the preparation and distribution of meals for the patients, visitors and the staff.

 

Kitchen Sanitation
•Follow all state, federal and local sanitation laws. 


Patient Feeding
•Tally sheets are followed and the patients get what they ordered in a timely manner. 


Cafeteria Feeding
•Cafeteria is clean, condiments are stocked and all non food items are available to our customers.


Catering Events
•Catering events are set up on time and presentable when instructed by management.


Food Preparation
•Patient’s desserts and all food that does not require an oven is made and presentable. 


Customer Service
•Customers are served in a polite and timely manner

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED Preferred
  • 1 Year Food preparation or distribution preferred
  • Experience in a healthcare institution preferred
  • Familiarity with basic food terminology helpful
