Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • The  Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) provides care that requires knowledge and skills obtained from advanced formal education and clinical experience. 
  • The ACNP, in collaboration with the physicians and interdisciplinary team, may provide preventive, acute, specialized and primary care services to patients consistent with the nurse’s education and certification. 
  • Services provided by the ACNP may include, but are not limited to the following: 1) assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of identified health needs; 2) ordering and interpretation of diagnostic and/or laboratory tests; 3) formulating, documenting, and monitoring treatment plans; 4) routine wound or post-operative dressing management; 5) ordering interdisciplinary consults; and 6) ordering pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies and/or interventions. 
  • In addition to standard ACNP responsibilities, duties also include the day to day management and development of the nurse practitioner program at SCH-C. 

This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • MSN-NP (ACNP)
  • Ohio RN license with eligibility for licensure in states as needed for telemedicine
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification
  • Two years' RN experience

Preferred:

  • Two years' Pediatric ICU experience
