Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.  We have an opportunity for a part-time (.5 FTE) Medical Lab Technician. 

 

This position is part time, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $16.93 - $34.20/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. 

 

Responsibilities

The Medical Lab Technician provides clinical laboratory services by accurately performing and evaluating diagnostic technical procedures in accordance with the established regulatory and accreditation standards for clinical lab science. Diagnostic procedures performed may include waived testing ,chemistry, microbiology, hemostasis, hematology, blood banking, urinalysis and phlebotomy. Functions as a member of an interdisciplinary team, and acts as a resource to staff and the general public regarding assigned areas of responsibility.

 

Qualifications

Required:

Associate's degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science

Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP)

Certified Medical Technician in state of CA

At least 1 year of clinical laboratory experience

Bilingual in Spanish

 
Preferred:

At least 5 years of clinical laboratory experience

 

Other:

Current full vaccination status required
