Job Overview

To provide family-centered, age appropriate clinical cardio pulmonary care. Utilize assessment findings in a timely manner to establish patient and family needs in collaboration with the health care team. Communicate findings in both verbal and written format. Seek personal / professional development; assure safe operation of life support equipment and perform other duties as required. Take a leadership role as assigned, act as a clinical resource to other departments. May precept staff after displaying
proficiency. Participate in hospital / departmental committees, special projects, and research

 

This position is per diem, mixed shifts, non exempt and health insurance eligible. The pay range for this positon is $48.15-$67.98/hourly. Compensation is determined based on relevant experience and department equity. 

Responsibilities

  • Ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, tracheostomy tube management, bronchoscopy, pulmonary function testing, sedation, blood gas and indirect calorimetry.
  • Provides primary respiratory care to patients from admission through discharge, and charts appropriately
  • Serves as a resource and provides education to students, nurses, and new employees as needed
  • Assures safe, cost-effective operation and function of pertinent equipment and utilizes appropriate infection control techniques in all areas

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • CA RT Licensure
  • BLS
  • PALS (within 6 months of hire)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster

Preferred:

  • 2 years pediatric experience
  • National Registration by National Board for Respiratory Care
