Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Full-Time Medical Assistant supporting our Honolulu Outreach Unit as their Department Assistant II.
This position is Full Time, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $19.70/hour - $24.60/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.
The Outreach Department Assistant II assists the Outreach Coordinator in clinics. Duties include scheduling and confirming patient appointments, scheduling consultations and other medical services outside of the hospital, obtaining and updating patient demographic and insurance information, arranging travel for the outreach team members and other clerical duties as assigned. Traveling with the Outreach team is an expectation for this position. Requires concentration and attention to detail in inputting data, completing and typing documents and handling heavy telephone contacts. Alertness and sensitivity in dealing with patients and families from various cultures. Flexibility in handling a variety of tasks. Strong verbal and writing communication skills. Medical terminology helpful. Knowledge of use of standard office equipment. Must possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be able to observe confidentiality at all times. |
