Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.  We have an opportunity for a PRN Appointment Coordinator. 

Responsibilities

The Appointment Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the master schedule of patient appointments for outpatient clinic visits. This includes the registration process and scheduling appointments for new and returning patients according to hospital policies.  This position demonstrates effective and age appropriate communication skills by phone and in person with patients, families, staff, Shriners and other visitors. 

Qualifications

Education

High School diploma or GED required

 

Experience

At least 1 year of scheduling, registration, and/or insurance verification preferred

Knowledge of scheduling systems preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office required

Medical terminology preferred

Other

Current full vaccination status required

The successful candidate will be available to work a minimum of 12 shifts per month

Good time management and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to deal with confidential information
Ability to communicate and interact with all members of the Shriners team in a professional and courteous manner
Innovative, self-motivated, and detail oriented
