Job Overview

We currently have an opening for a on-call Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Spokane, WA team. The registered professional nurse (RN) is accountable for the coordination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. 

 

Schedule: On-call (in-person)

Holidays: 9 observed holidays per year

Compensation range: Pay for this position is $45/hr. The hired applicant's placement within the range is based on qualifications, professional experience and education.

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care to our pediatric patients in all of the perioperative areas, including Pre-op Holding, the Operating Room, and Phase I Recovery Room.
  • Performs assessments, interventions, circulating, IV starts, airway management, aseptic technique, and various other high acuity skills designed to keep the patients safe before, during, and immediately after surgery.  
  • Collects and analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis/issuesAssesses comprehensive data including but not limited to physical, psychosocial, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs and interprets assessment information to derive the diagnosis or issues as defined by the patient’s condition.
  • Identifies expected outcomes and develops a plan that prescribes strategies which address health promotion and restoration, health maintenance, or health related problems or issues and alternatives to attain expected outcomesInvolves patient, family and healthcare team members in formulating a culturally appropriate individualized plan of care and identifies expected outcomes based on nursing assessment and diagnosis.
  • Implements the identified plan and coordinates care delivery

Qualifications

Required

  • RN licensure in WA
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • PEAR, PALS, ACLS: obtain within 1 year of employment as required by hospital

Preferred

  • Bachelor in Nursing
  • 2 years experience in acute nursing
