Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.  We have an opportunity for a Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team.

 

Hours of Operation:

Monday – Friday: 6:30 am – 8:30 pm

Saturday - Sunday: Closed

Holidays: Closed

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, this position will provide clinical pharmacy services, pharmacy student teaching and pharmacy operational duties as appropriate.

1. Maintains clinical pharmacy services on all hospital units
2. Manages the pharmacy inventory control program and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
3. Assists in all pharmacy operations as appropriate, including supervision of the pharmacy technician staff.

 

Assumes Operational aspects of the Pharmacy Department in the Director's absence.

• Satisfies any problems that may arise when the Director is not available. 

 

Reviews physician's drug orders and provides quality and timely advice to ensure that they are accurate, appropriate, and complete.

• Reviews all medication orders for patient allergies or potential sensitivities.
• Reviews all medication orders for existing or potential medication or food interactions.
• Reviews all medication orders for appropriateness of medication, dose, frequency, route of administration,
therapeutic duplication, drug incompatibilities, overdoses and potential toxic effects.
• Reviews all medication orders for current or potential impact as indicated by laboratory values.
• Provides quality and timely advice.

 

 

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor in Pharmacy required, DPT preferred

 

Certification/Licensure

Pharmacy license in state of practice required

 

Experience

2 years Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred
