Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.  We have an opportunity for a Business Manger to join our Leadership team.

 

 

SCSC is looking for its next Business Manager to be a leader and assist with running the ambulatory surgical center.  The ideal candidate will have experience leading financial operations for an ambulatory surgical center, including budgeting, preparing financial statements, and directing revenue cycle management activities such as patient access, registration, charging, billing, and collecting.

The pay range for this position is $88,000 - $125,000/year. Compensation is determined based on relevant experience and department equity.

Responsibilities

The Business Manager provides values-based leadership to assigned areas and services of responsibility by providing direction, advice and oversight in areas of operations, financial stewardship and revenue cycle.  Reporting directly to the Clinic Director, provides leadership and supervision of revenue cycle and operational staff, as well as, shared services such as Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Health Information Management (HIM), IS, etc. 

 

Requires experience in a healthcare system, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.  The ideal candidate will have obtained this experience in California and will have progressive leadership/management experience of three or more years.  Experience in pediatrics, knowledge and proficiency with Epic, process improvement, change management and regulatory compliance is a plus

 

Responsible for overseeing day to day activities of admitting and registration, patient billing and collection, third-party payers, and denials management.  Also responsible for generating budgets, financial statements, and variance analysis. Accountable for all aspects of the assigned services' performance including development and maintenance of the high performance culture and positive work environment required to drive patient experience, regulatory compliance, safety, and financial stewardship (to patient and Shriners Children's). Responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing and supervising all staff and activities related to areas of responsibility, including oversight of identified process improvement opportunities. Identify, implement, and monitor improvement opportunities to create operational efficiencies, revenue optimization and advancements in patient access. Effectively engages others in change management and organization transformation, developing a collaborative relationship within facility, market and system as applicable.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Healthcare related field is required.

 

Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration or equivalent work experience preferred.

 

Experience
3 years of progressive leadership/management development experience required.
3 years of management/supervisory experience in a healthcare setting required, 5 years  preferred.
Experience with Outpatient Clinic Operations preferred.
Experience working within Epic EHR/Billing system preferred.
Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities in a fast paced, ever changing and evolving work environment..

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Strong analytical, problem solving, and leadership skills.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
