Job Overview

Provides evaluation and therapy services, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transition of care, in an efficient, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner upon licensed independent practitioner referral.

 

This position is per diem, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $51.85 - $73.20/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. 

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive compliant and safe clinical care demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care, a commitment to the achievement of optimal patient outcomes in alignment with the standards of practice of their professional organization.
  • Works with medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized plans of care to meet the needs of the pediatric patients and their family.
  • Functions as a team member and develops leadership skills through activities such as: mentoring, and providing education to students and other professionals.
  • Supports the ongoing development and improvement of the department through participation in special projects, performance improvement and facility committees.
  • Responsible for professional growth and development through ongoing education and research in alignment with hospital’s patient care and strategic direction.
  • Responsible for maintaining current knowledge in changes related to scope of practice, coding/billing practices, compliant documentation and any other knowledge related to the compliant practice in a revenue cycle environment.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Current licensure by the California Board of Medical Examiners
  • CPR certification.

Preferred:

  • Previous physical therapist clinical experience in pediatrics, orthopedics, spinal cord injury and burns preferred.
