Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.  We currently have an opening for an enthusiastic Advanced Practice Professional  to join our small clinical team.  The ideal candidate will embrace a variety of tasks which could include clinic coverage, Orthopaedics, and Cleft Lip and Palate.

Responsibilities

The Physician Assistant provides comprehensive, evidenced based health care services to the pediatric population. Services provided by the PA-C may include, but are not limited to the following:

1) assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of identified health needs in the clinical and inpatient setting;

2) ordering and interpretation of diagnostic and/or laboratory tests;

3) formulating, documenting, and monitoring treatment plans;

4) routine pre or post-operative surgical care management;

5) ordering interdisciplinary consults;

6) ordering pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies and/or interventions;

7) assisting with minor clinic procedures;

8) assisting in the evaluation and work up of the patient, conferring with physician on treatment and follow up; and

 

Qualifications

Education

Master's Physician Assistant Preferred

 

Experience

3 Years Physicians Assistant Preferred, however, new grads will be considered

Orthopaedic and Cleft Lip Palate experience a plus.

 

Licensure and Certification

Licensed in state of practice Required AND
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required 

 

Hours of the position  are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
