Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.  We have an opportunity for a Music Therapist to join our team. 

 

This position is per diem, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $42.50/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. 

Responsibilities

The Music Therapist provides assessment, music based programming, and music-based therapeutic intervention for children, from infancy through adolescence, in a family centered care environment.  In this position, you'll help patients achieve and maintain maximum levels of functioning in the areas of physical, cognitive and socio-emotional health while promoting principals of family centered care.  You'll work with patients and the interdisciplinary team providing co-treatment, procedural support and individualized therapeutic interventions.  This position provides services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Position requires strong skills in assessment and planning, psychosocial support, procedural support and goal directed play. 

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy

 

Certification/Licensure

Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC)

 

Experience

One year’s experience preferred

 

Other

Current full vaccination status required
