Job Overview

The Epic Manager provides leadership and oversight; works collaboratively with clinical operations and IS teams to identify and implement system enhancements; and manages a team of Epic Applications Analyst to configure and maintain system settings to ensure optimal functionality and meet user needs. The Epic Manager develops and maintains documentation for system use and training materials and analyzes system usage data and identify opportunities for improvement. The Epic Manager will stay up to date on the latest Epic updates and best practices; manage and prioritize application-related tasks and projects; troubleshoot and resolve application issues; and participate in system upgrades and implementations.

 

This position requires travel as needed, off hours work and participation in on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight. 
  • Work collaboratively with clinical operations and IS teams to identify and implement system enhancements.
  • Manage a team of Epic Applications Analyst to configure and maintain system settings to ensure optimal functionality and meet user needs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for system use and training materials. 
  • Analyze system usage data and identify opportunities for improvement. 
  • Stay up to date on the latest Epic updates and best practices. 
  • Manage and prioritize application related tasks and projects. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues. 
  • Participate in system upgrades and implementations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Healthcare or related field or 7+ years of equivalent clinical or information services experience
  • 3+ years of management experience leading a team supporting Epic ClinDoc, Inpatient Orders, Optime and/or Anesthesia 

  • Epic Certifications in one or more Epic applications - preferably ClinDoc, Inpatient Orders, Optime or Anesthesia - or achieve certification within 180 days.

Preferred:

  • Epic Certification
  • Masters Degree in Information Technology, Healthcare or related field
