Shriners Children's is a premier pediatric health system provider for burn, orthopedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties. We have an opportunity for a Finance Manger to join our Leadership team at one of its ambulatory surgery center in Pasadena, CA.
Shriners Children's Southern California (SCSC) is looking for its next Finance Manager to be a leader and assist with running the ambulatory surgical center. The Finance Manager provides leadership, direction, advice and oversight in areas of financial operations for the assigned facility. Reporting directly to the Facility Administrator, the Finance Manager plans and organizes a variety of business-related activities such as accounting functions, financial analysis, budget preparation and monitoring and revenue cycle efforts. Also could be assigned other areas of responsibility such as Supply Chain Management and Health Information Management.
The pay range for this position is $114,000 - $172,000/year. Compensation is determined based on relevant experience and department equity.
Responsible for assisting in financial oversight of day-to-day activities such as payroll, donations, accounts payable, operating budget monitoring. Also responsible for preparing and generating annual budgets, monthly financial statements, and monthly facility department variance analysis, admitting and registering patients, patient authorizations, billing and collections, working with third-party payers, and denials management.
Accountable for all aspects of the assigned departments’ performance including development and maintenance of a high performance culture and positive work environment required to drive patient experience, regulatory compliance, safety, and financial stewardship (to patients and Shriners Children's). Responsible for planning, evaluating, organizing and supervising all staff and activities related to areas of responsibility, including oversight of identified process improvement opportunities. Identify, implement, and monitor improvement opportunities to create operational efficiencies, revenue optimization and advancements in patient access. Effectively engages others in change management and organization transformation, developing a collaborative relationship within facility, market and system as applicable.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Healthcare related field is required.
Master's degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration or equivalent work experience preferred.
Experience
2 years of Pediatric Orthopedics experience required.
5 years of management/supervisory experience in a healthcare setting required.
Experience with Ambulatory Surgery Center and/or Outpatient Clinic Operations preferred.
Preparing and leading annual budget process and performing accounting duties such as journal entries, A/P, financial statement preparation.
Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced, ever changing work environment.
Experience working within Epic EHR and Billing system preferred.
