Job Overview

Shriners Children’s of Southern California provides specialty care for patients’ ages 0 -21.   Social Workers are an integral part of our multidisciplinary team that provides family centered care for patients.

 

The position is per diem, non exempt and health insurance eligible. The Social Worker payscale is $38.40 - $57.60/hour. Pay is determined based on experience and department equity. 

Responsibilities

The Social Worker is responsible for providing assessments, planning, interventions and follow-up for patients and family members at Shriners Children's across the continuum of care. Through this function, by joining the team, you'll have the opportunity to make an impact on our patient's experience. You'll help to provide continuity of care for positive outcomes in our family centered environment.

 

  • Biopsychosocial assessment
  • Crisis intervention
  • Brief Suicide Screening Assessment
  • Participation in Multidisciplinary Rounds/Conferences
  • Patient and family support and education
  • Referrals to community based services
  • Discharge and transition planning

This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • Masters Degree in Social Work
  • CMC, ACM or ANCC (within 12 months of hire or eligibility)

Preferred:

  • Bilingual 
  • 3+ years pediatric healthcare experience
  • LCSW
