hriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.  We have an opportunity for a Sterile Processing Tech to join our Galveston, Texas team.

Job Overview

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for providing reprocessed supplies and equipment required by all departments that render patient care. In this position, you'll ensure that all instruments are sterile, which will help maintain a safe environment for our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of proper decontamination procedure for instruments and equipment
  • Processes instrument sets for sterilization
  • Prepares and packages individual items for sterilization, choosing proper mode of sterilization
  • Delivers processed instruments and supplies to surgical suite.  Identifies supplies/instruments below par levels on assigned unit and restocks as needed
  • Orders and puts away supplies from Materials Management

 

 

Qualifications

Education

High School diploma or GED required

Certification/Licensure

CSPDT or equivalent certification required

Skills

2 years experience in sterile processing required
