It is the world’s leading center for pediatric burn care and is the only American Burn Association (ABA) exclusively pediatric verified burn center in New England and New York.

The Boston Shriners Hospital is one of four pediatric burn specialty hospitals in Shriners Children’s health system and provide comprehensive care for cleft lip and palate, as well as other craniofacial anomalies, with a multidisciplinary care team.

Job Overview

The plumber position is responsible for repairs and maintenance of several plumbing systems, which include medical gases and sterilizers, as well as emergency response. 

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and installs equipment and plumbing systems such as valves, pumps, traps, faucets, etc.
  • Maintains plumbing systems such as drainage, waste, vent, medical gases, compressed air-vacuum, oxygen, steam supply and return, hot and cold water, kitchen equipment, sterilizers and various lab equipment, fire protection, sewage ejectors, acid neutralizers, grease, and plastic traps.
  • Maintains the gas, water, air, steam, traps, valves and lines and waste disposal systems in the hospital and all other related buildings. Installs and repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures, working from blueprints, written specifications, and oral communication. Estimate material required and costs.
  • Assist with HVAC or plumbing projects, expanding your skill set across multiple disciplines.
  • Responds to emergency situations or problems whenever required.
  • Ensure position resposibilities are performed with high standards of quality and safety.

Qualifications

Master of Journeyman Plumber license; addtional licenses including gas fitting, sheet metal, EPA 608 preferred, not required.
