Job Overview

The Epic Application Analysts are responsible for performing professional duties involving the selection or development, implementation, testing, documentation, maintenance and effective utilization of Epic applications software to meet and support clinical and business Information Services (IS) needs. The Epic application analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining a clear knowledge of their respective application and workflows associated with that application. They demonstrate excellent presentation skills, and have an excellent ability to answer end-users questions related to their application. Epic application analysts are responsible to keep their Epic certifications up-to-date and active. Off hours work and participation in on-call rotation are required.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews assigned portions of business or clinical operations to identify clients’ information system’s needs
  • Defines processes, problems and requirements; performing cost/benefit analyses
  • Performs assignments for the design and analysis of clinical and business information systems to meet client’s needs.
  • Develops and/or modifies custom applications software. Writes programs/code using a variety of programming languages to meet defined information systems specifications. Designs screen layouts.
  • Apprises clients of practical implications of information systems changes, ensuring that the client is informed of available alternatives and their relative advantages and disadvantages

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree, or 5+ years of equivalent clinical or information services experience may be considered
  • Epic Certifications in one or more Epic applications  (required within 180 days of hire) 

Preferred:

  • RHIA or RHIT certification
