We have an opportunity for a PRN Cast Tech to work at least two 8-hour shifts per month during the week day.  

• Assists the nursing and medical staff with casting procedures including in OR, Mehta casting, and overwraps for inpatient as needed.
• Asses patient for pain management.  Assistance is given with cast applications and TLSO molds and other procedures as directed by the PA/MD.
• Provides education to families related to cast care.
• Assures adequate inventory of cast room supplies and keeps cast equipment clean and in excellent working condition
• Maintains the physical environment of the cast rooms by ensuring that cast rooms are clean and safe
• Provides safe and effective age and developmentally appropriate patient care 

Required:

High School Diploma/GED

Basic Life Support (BLS) 

Casting experience

Preferred:

At least 1 year of casting experience in pediatric orthopedics 

Orthopedic Cast Technician Certification
