Job Overview

Shriners Children’s Lexington has an opportunity for a PRN Radiology Technologist to join our team.

Closed weekends and major holidays. Observe nine holidays: New Year, Martin Luther King, Memorial, Independence, Labor, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas Eve, and Christmas.

Parking is paid by Shriners, no cost to the employee.

Responsibilities

Radiologic Technologists are medical personnel who perform imaging procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of patients in a professional manner. In addition, assumes departmental duties as needed.

  • Assesses orders for accuracy
  • Reviews images for diagnostic quality
  • Documents consistantly and accurately in EMR, PACS and other facility requirements

This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required
Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program.
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Licensed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky cabinet for Human Resources, holding a General Radiation Operator Certificate.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by the American Heart Association.

 

Preferred

One year of clinical experience over and above that received in the educational program in radiography.
Experience with intraoperative procedures and pediatric/orthopedics. 
Knowledgeable of the physical and psychosocial needs of age specific groups in the environment of care.
