Job Overview

Pediatric Orthotic and Prosthetics of Shriners Children’s Hospital ,Greenville, SC is looking for a dynamic team-oriented CPO to join our diversified team. Help us with our mission to provide the very best in pediatric orthotic and prosthetic care for our children and their families, in a team-oriented hospital environment.

 

Our great team is looking for an ABC CPO.   Knowledge in pediatrics, use of CAD for modifying, and OPIE EMR, is a plus. This position is full time, Monday -Friday, with no on call or weekends!

Responsibilities

In this role, you will thrive and grow your career by working with the following activities:

  • The assessment, measurement, casting, modification, fabrication and fitting of prosthetic and orthotic devices under appropriate prescription criteria.
  • Evaluates Orthotic and Prosthetic prescription for appropriateness and need for specific design criteria.
  • Knowledge of CAD O&P Design.  
  • Development of patient treatment plans including the design of the appropriate device and component selection in accordance to the physician prescription.
  • Teaches patient, families and staff appropriate care and wear of Orthosis/Prosthesis, maintenance and use.
  • Appropriate, timely and compliant patient documentation utilizing EMR system; and the establishment of short and long term patient goals for documented outcomes. 
  • Direct the technical staff in fabrication of specific orthotic and prosthetic devices following an organized and orderly work flow with reasonable delivery dates of the orthosis/prosthesis to patients.
  • Assesses quality of finished devices when fitted to patients.
  • Assists technicians in maintaining machines and equipment.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the department head.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors Degree
  • American Board of Certification in Orthotics (ABC)

Preferred

  • Masters of Science in Prosthetics & Orthotics
  • 2 years clinical and technical O and P experience
  • 1 year Pediatric experience
  • BLS
