Job Overview

Shriners Children's St. Louis has an opportunity for a Manager, Health Information Management (HIM).  Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. Responsibilities

  • The Manager, Health Information Management  is responsible for managing, coordinating and performing day to day HIM departmental operations and staff supervision. 
  • The HIM Manager will oversee and implement facility related HIM operational planning, initiatives, budgets, workfow processes and internal controls. 
  • Responsibilities include:  interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing workflows, appraising employee performance and rewards, addressing complaints and resolving problems, actively overseeing and managing production and quality control efforts, supporting local colleges with education of HIM students, serving as the facility Privacy Offier and designated Facility Records Custodian.

This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associates degree in Applied Science - Health Information Management
  • 3 years experience in HIM
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) through AHIMA

 

Preferred:

  • Ability to provide effective leadership to assigned staff and utilize appropriate management methods and practices.
