Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.  We have an opportunity for a Respiratory Therapist to join our team.

 

Site Description

  • 49-bed inpatient facility with an outpatient clinic and walk-in fracture clinic located in North Philadelphia
  • Outreach clinics in Doylestown, PA and San Juan, Puerto Rico
  • Joint Commission accredited
  • Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence award winner for Inpatient Pediatric Patient Experience (2023)
  • Specialties: Orthopedics, Spine/Spinal Cord, Sports Medicine, Pediatric Surgery, Craniofacial, Rheumatology, Pediatric Rehabilitation/Therapy, Urology 
  • Partnerships with Temple University, Thomas Jefferson University, St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, Drexel University, and the University of Pennsylvania

Job Overview

Administers respiratory care and life support to patients with abnormalities and deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system by prescription and under the supervision of a physician.  This position is a Night shift (7 pm - 7 am).  3 - 12 hour shifts.  

Responsibilities

•Obtains physician's order 100% of the time prior to initiating therapy.
•Able to appropriately assess all patients before and after therapy is delivered 100% of the time. 
•Sets up all routine therapy modalities according to policy and procedure 100% of the time. 
•Able to set up and monitor all life support equipment according to policy and procedure 100% of the time. 
•Able to set up and perform EKG's on patients in a timely fashion. 
•Able to perform all POCT including controls, proficiencies and documentation. Maintain all State and Joint Commission requirements for licensing and accreditation

Qualifications

Education

Associate Respiratory Therapy Preferred

 

Experience

2 Years Respiratory care practitioner Preferred

 

License & Certification

RT license in state of practice Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
