Job Overview

We have an opportunity for a Patient Care Assistant (CNA/ Certified Nursing Assistant) on our Inpatient Unit.  This is a Full Time, 12 hour shift (36 hours per week) position.  The hours are 7AM to 7PM.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant (CNA) assists in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.  This includes but is not limited to:

  • Provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned. 
  • Organizes and prioritizes workload minimizing/eliminating undue delays, blacklogs, or disorder.
  • Time management incorporates purposeful rounding; hourly during the day and every 2 hours during the night, anticipating patient and family needs jointly with the RN.
  • Must consistently demonstrate caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families. 
  • Monitors the activities of patients and maintains a safe physical and psychosocial environment.
  • Able to adapt to changes in workload or patient assignments.
  • Assists patients as needed in attending Child Life Activities and special events.
  • Ensures patient care areas are neat and clean.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements

High School Diploma /GED 

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in state of SC 

Basic Life Support (BLS) - or obtained within 3 months

Nursing Assistant experience

 

 

Preferred

One year of pediatric nursing assistant experience
