Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a per diem (as needed) School Teacher.
Responsible for the coordination and provision of patient academic education, including remedial educational assistance for learning disabilities, or supplemental and learning opportunities.
This role will collaborate with school districts and patients’ home teachers to maintain patient in current academic status. Duties include the development and oversight of patient transition from the hospital to school environment upon discharge.
Teaching license/certificate in good standing with the State of Pennsylvania and abilities in working with hospitalized children and various age groups .
Bachelor of Education; two years teaching, secondary education, special education, and bilingual preferred, but not required.
