Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.  We have an opportunity for a per diem Pediatric Registered Nurse in our Operating Room for our Pasadena, California location.

Job Overview

The Per Diem OR Registered Nurse provides nursing care to our pediatric patients within the Operating Room, and performs assessments and interventions designed to keep the patients safe during surgery.  The RN provides leadership through activities such as preceptor role and quality improvement efforts.  

 

Compensation:

Range: $54.40 - $76.80/hourly

 

This position is per diem, non exempt and benefits eligible (Medical, Dental and Vision insurance only). 

Compensation is determined based on experience and department equity. 

 

Responsibilities

  • The OR Registered Nurse provides nursing care to our pediatric patients within the operating room, performs assessments and interventions designed to keep the patients safe during surgery. 
  • Involves patient, family, and health care team members in formulating an appropriate individualized plan of care and identifies expected outcomes based on nursing assessment and diagnosis.
  • Implements the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family, and health care team members.
  • Ensures all components of the plan of care are documented in the patient health record.
  • Evaluates the patient/family's understanding of and response to the plan of care.
  • Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to the individual patient's condition and learning needs.
  • Assists the physician in accomplishing the plan of care for the patient and to provide continuity between the patient care unit and the Operating Room.

Qualifications

Education

BSN Preferred.  ADN candidates must be willing to achieve BSN within 5 years.

Certification/Licensure

RN in CA

Skills

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
