Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties hospitals and medical centers.  We have an opportunity for a part - time Pharmacy Tech. 

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, this position will assist in providing pharmaceutical preparation and delivery of care to SHC patients. Processes medication orders accurately and safely according to established guidelines of good manufacturing practices.

 

• Provides the best clinical and operational pharmacy services to satisfy the needs of the patient, family, pharmacy department, and hospital.
• Supports the mission and vision of the pharmacy department and hospital.
• Perform duties in compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, codes and standards of the hospital.
• Documents pharmaceutical care activities appropriately.
• Interpret, prepare and dispense medications using appropriate techniques and following the hospital’s policies and procedures.
• Manages time effectively to fulfill practice responsibilities.
• Maintains a professional image.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Understands and participates in the steps that must be taken to ensure departmental compliance with accreditation, legal, regulatory and safety requirements.
• Participate in the development and implementation of pharmacy department’s policies and procedures.
• Participate in stock-control programs of monitoring, ordering and inventorying medications and products as required by the director of pharmacy.

Qualifications

1 year of pharmacy experience preferred

Hospital Experience preferred

Pharmacy Technician certification required
