Job Overview

The Nurse Clinical Coordinator provides leadership, direction and clinical support to nursing staff to promote quality patient care and a safe work environment. The successful leader will monitor staff performance, attendance/tardiness, and professional work environment with a team approach. In this position, you'll be responsible for supervising orientation of new staff, educating staff on policies and procedures and always look for performance improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes excellence in all clinical activities as a clinical expert
  • Provides for and evaluates the quality of patient care through direct observation and assessment in collaboration with nursing staff
  • Provides relief for staff for break periods to ensure adequate patient care
  • Serves as a clinical resource to staff
  • serves as a "super user" and ensures staff competency for electronic and paper documentation
  • Serves as a leader in the development of standards and provides training to achieve Evidence Based Practice.  Assists the staff in resolving patient care challenges
  • Facilitates meetings
  • Supervises, evaluates and provides counseling to staff on their performance and promotes adherence to Core Values.  Coaches staff to improve performance and practice.
  • Responsible for department operations in the absence of the director

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BSN)
  • 3 years’ experience as an Operating Room Nurse
  • Active RN license in State of Texas
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

 

Preferred:

  • 1 year experience in Pediatric Burns preferred
  • 1 years’ experience in a supervisory position preferred
  • CNOR
