Job Overview

Join our expanding team at Shriners Children's Northern California as a Pediatric Anesthesiologist and play a crucial role in providing exceptional care for infants, children, and adolescents. As the largest  Shriners Hospital in North America, we specialize in treating complex orthopedic disorders, cleft lip/palate surgery, burn injuries, and pediatric surgery.

We're seeking a board-certified/eligible Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join our all-physician anesthesia group dedicated to clinical excellence, research, and resident training. You'll have the opportunity to develop expertise in regional anesthesia within our robust program and collaborate with highly skilled Pediatric Regional Anesthesiologists.

Enjoy a Monday to Friday schedule with rare evening and weekend cases, with call taken from home and a minimal call-back rate. Benefit from a competitive salary ranging from $460,000 to $520,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including continuing education and professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Checks anesthesia equipment according to current guidelines
  • Formulates anesthetic plan based on birth history, physical examination, and laboratory results
  • Inserts endotrachael tubes and intravenous catheters
  • Sets up intravenous and intra-arterial fluid systems appropriately
  • Utilizes all current techniques of monitoring
  • Ensures intra-operative patient management is appropriate
  • Ensures patient management in the PACU is appropriate

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesia, along with Pediatric Anesthesia board Certification (or eligibility) and board Certification in Anesthesiology.
  • Must possess or be eligible for California medical license
  • Must possess or be eligible for DEA license
  • Must be BLS, ACLS and PALS certified
