Job Overview

Shriners Children’s is looking for a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Shriners Children’s Northern California. This provider will support our Orthopedics team and provide care to pediatric patients in an outpatient setting. Schedule will be Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm with no nights, weekends, or call. The pay range for this position is $78.33 to $110.59/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities

  • Attend general and specialty orthopedic outpatient clinics, coordinating surgeries, diagnostic studies, and following up with patients and families
  • Obtain and document appropriate health histories and perform physical exams on orthopedic and rehabilitation patients
  • Order appropriate treatment and/or diagnostic studies
  • Make appropriate referrals as needed
  • Educate patients/parents regarding identified health conditions and findings
  • Communicate with community care providers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow up requirements

Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing or equivalent degree required
  • Board certified as FNP or PNP
  • Active California RN and APRN license required
  • Active Federal and CA DEA license required
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
  • 3+ years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in pediatrics and/or orthopedics highly preferred. New graduates will also be considered
