Job Overview

We have an opportunity for a Part Time Prosthetist and Orthotist (ABC) to join our team in Spokane.  The Prosthetist/Orthotist role is to provide Prosthetic and Orthotic care to pediatric patients within a hospital setting.  This position requires clinical care in Orthotics and Prosthetics, ordering and purchasing, use of scanning and CAD, and operating within a regional fabrication model.

 

This position is part-time (20 hours/week), non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $33.08 - $49.63/hr, compensation is determined based on year of experience and department equity. 

Responsibilities

  • The Prosthetist/Orthotist is responsible for the assessment, measurement, casting, modification, fabrication and fitting of prosthetic and orthotic devices under appropriate prescription criteria. 
  • They are responsible for the development of patient treatment plans including the design of the appropriate device and component selection in accordance to the physician prescription; appropriate, timely and compliant patient documentation utilizing EMR system; and the establishment of short and long term patient goals for documented outcomes. 
  • The Prosthetist/Orthotist is responsible to direct the technical staff in fabrication of specific orthotic and prosthetic devices following an organized and orderly work flow with reasonable delivery dates of the device to patients.
  • Responsible for communicating with Medical Staff, Care Coordinators, Therapists and other medical providers to best achieve positive outcomes for patients.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Bachelors degree Orthotics and Prosthetics, Preferred
  • Board for Orthotist/Prosthetist Certification (BOC) or board eligible Orthotist/Prosthetist
  • Eligible or current Orthotist/Prosthetist Washington state department of health licensure

Preferred:

  • 3 years expereience as certified O&P with emphasis in Pediatrics
