Job Overview

Shriners is looking for a Full Time Dietetic Technician.  The Dietetic Technician is responsible for preparing grill items and serving patients, staff and visitors, and for catering events.  Ensures that serving sizes are according to established guidelines.  Responsible for performing essential technical duties associated with nutritional care and food service to all patients.  Responsible for entering data into the computer and processing invoices.  Runs/maintains and balances the cash register.

 

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates ability to prepare foods according to departmental policies and procedures.  Presentation is eye appealing.  Serving sizes are according to established guidelines.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to follow safe food techniques as described in the HACCP policy and procedure.  Demonstrates knowledge and ability to follow Kitchen Safety policy and procedures.
  • Ability to ring items up on the correct key, make proper change, and ringing up charges correctly.
  • Ability to keep predetermined records and process invoices.  Demonstrates ability and knowledge to use the following software programs: Word, Print Shop, Excel, and Sysco Order Entry.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma/GED, preferred

 

Experience

  • 2 Years Food Service, preferred
  • Food preparation/serving, required
  • Inventory/Ordering, preferred

 

Certification and Licensures

  • Health Department Food Handler Card, required
