Job Overview

We have a great opportunity available for a PRN (as needed) Coordinator of Therapy Services.  The Coordinator of Therapy Services works directly with insurance companies, therapy providers, and patients in order to have optimal patient care, including patient scheduling and intake, while meeting compliance standards to maximize claim processing and payment.

Responsibilities

Tracks patients to determine continued and appropriate insurance eligibility and benefit period:
• Reviews pre-authorization intake information to identify potential resource costs, and communicate findings to therapy care team;
• Verify patient’s current insurance to ensure continuity of coverage
 
Identifies opportunities to enhance reimbursement:
• Maintains an accurate list of all therapy evaluations and assessments for the correct reference dates throughout patients care, to ensure the accurate and timely submission of the required re- assessments
• Collaborates with RIC to confirm signed plans of care
 
Track therapy authorization times and keep staff aware of pending recertification requirements, facilitating any payor specific requests for information.
 
Provides education to the interdisciplinary team as appropriate:
• Instructs staff in terminology, language, and format that is required by specific payors;
• Communicates with Director of Rehab, interdisciplinary team and Revenue Cycle team regarding any changes in regulations
• Trains backup personnel
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Qualifications

Education:

 

High School Diploma/GED required

 

Associates Degree in related field preferred

 

Experience:

 

1 Year

Rehabilitation Services preferred

1 Year

Microsoft Office Applications preferred

1 Year

Organizational skills required

1 Year
