Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.  We have an opportunity for a Physical Therapist to join our Rehab team. The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluation and treatment of inpatients and outpatients including infants, toddlers, school age and adolescentchildren. Interacts with families and children of all ages in an age appropriate manner in order to foster a family-centered care
environment. Supervisory responsibilities of physical therapist, occupational therapists, recreational / child life therapists,
rehabilitation aides, students, and volunteers as assigned. 

 

This position is per diem, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $42.40/hour - 63.60/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. 

Responsibilities

In this position, you will have the unique opportunity to help our patient through their journey from the moment the child is brought through the door through the time the child leaves to go home.  You'll get to help our kids grow into the new person that they want to be.  You will provide evaluations and therapy services, education and training to meet the needs of our patients.  The successful canddiate will get the opportunity to learn and grow in their practice by being exposed to burns, orthopaedic, acute care and outpatient settings.

 

The Physical Therapist evalustes and rehabilitates patients with intended result of the original bodily performance.

  • Provides comprehensive compliant and safe clinical care demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care, a commitment to the achievement of optimal patient outcomes in alignment with the standards of practice of their professional organization.
  • Works with medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized plans of care to meet the needs of the pediatric patients and their family.
  • Functions as a team member and develops leadership skills through activities such as: mentoring, and providing education to students and other professionals.
  • Supports the ongoing development and improvement of the department through participation in special projects, performance improvement and facility committees.
  • Responsible for professional growth and development through ongoing education and research in alignment with hospital’s patient care and strategic direction.
  • Responsible for maintaining current knowledge in changes related to scope of practice, coding/billing practices, compliant documentation and any other knowledge related to the compliant practice in a revenue cycle environment.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy. 

Certification/Licensure

licensed in state of practice

Skills

1 year physical therapy experience preferred

New graduates considered

Pediatric experience preferred
