Job Overview

Shriners Children’s is looking for a full-time Physician Assistant to join our team at Shriners Children’s Greenville. This provider will support our Orthopedics team and provide care to pediatric patients in both a surgical, inpatient, and clinic-based setting. Schedule will be Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm with no nights, holidays, weekends, or call expected. APPs have the option to assist with overnight call on a rotating basis for an extra incentive. The pay range for this position is $99,022-$169,752. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities

Outpatient Clinic Duties and Responsibilities

  • New patient history and physical examination
  • Established patient follow-up evaluation
  • Order appropriate diagnostic laboratory and imaging studie
  • Order appropriate medications
  • Appropriate clinical decision-making and management
  • Participate in development and implementation of regional outcome programs
  • Assist and/or casting

Inpatient Duties and Responsibilities

  • Admission history and physical examination to include surgical and rehabilitation admissions
  • Daily progress notes
  • Discharge notes
  • Participate in patient care rounds with physicians, nursing, and rehabilitation staff
  • Check wounds and incisions
  • Apply/modify/remove casts
  • First assist in surgery

Qualifications

  • Master of Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent degree required
  • NCCPA board certification required
  • Active SC Physician Assistant license required
  • Active DEA license required
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
  • Previous experience in orthopedics and/or pediatrics highly preferred. New graduates will also be considered.
