Job Overview

Seeking a highly motivated Anesthesia Technician to become a part of the surgical team on a part time basis.

 

This position is part time, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is $38.47 - 54.31/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. 

 

Responsibilities

The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for orderly and efficient set-up, trouble shooting and maintenance of all anesthesia machines, monitors, carts, general equipment and specialized equipment.

 

Additionally, the Anesthesia Technician is responsible for placing the anesthesia machines in operational status; transporting patients as necessary; assisting Anesthesiologist in duties outside OR; maintaining neat, clean, orderly and systematic anesthesia work room; responsible for the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative operation and maintenance of the Cell Saver in compliance with infection control and technical safety standards; communicating requirements for appropriate availability of supplies needed to perform cell saver functions; ordering anesthesia supplies; cleaning / turning over OR for anesthesia components between cases; and assisting with sterile procedures.

Qualifications

  • College degree or work experience
  • 1 year of previous experience as an Anesthesia Technician, or 2 years as an Operating Room Technician
  • Extensive knowledge of procedure requirements associated with the various types of anesthesia; risks of anesthesia relevant to the Anesthesia Technician; and technical aspects, function, calibration, maintenance and operation of surgical machines.
