Shriners Children’s Chicago offers specialized care for a wide range of pediatric orthopedic, bone and joint conditions, including rare diseases and syndromes. Other specialties include spine and scoliosis care, plastic surgery, cleft lip and palate care, comprehensive rehabilitation and spinal cord injuries.

Job Overview

Schedule: Full-Time Mixed- 1.0 FTE

Hours: 3:30pm- Midnight

Monday-Friday (Weekend Availability Required)

 

 

Shriners Children's Chicago has an opportunity for a Sr. Environmental Services Tech.  Under the guidance of the Director of Environmental Services, this position will perform duties related to preventive and corrective cleaning procedures to maintain a clean and sanitized environment in accordance with hospital standard cleaning procedures. Cleaning responsibilities include sweeping, damp mopping and waxing floors, vacuuming rugs and carpets, upholstery and draperies, dusting furniture, washing walls, ceilings, air vents, woodwork, blinds, windows, door panels and base boards, disinfecting horizontal, vertical, equipment, and high touch areas.  This position is an important part of our team because you will keep the patient's room clean so the patient and family can focus on healing.

 

The pay range for this position is $19.92/hour - $24.89/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity. 

Responsibilities

  • The Sr. Environmental Services Tech supports the daily operations of the Environmental Services department under the directon of the Director.
  • In addition to regular scheduled cleaning assignments or projects, this position will distribute assignments and execute directives given by the Director. 
  • Ensures the quality and quantity of work to maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly hospital.
  • Covers cleaning work schedule for staff when the department is short staffed.
  • Trains staff in cleaning, safety, and emergency procedures.
    Reports any work irregularities to the Director of Environmental Services.

Qualifications

Education

High School diploma or GED required

 

Experience

At least 3 years of EVS experience required

At least 3 years of experience working in a lead/management/supervisory role required

Experience working in a healthcare environment preferred
