Job Overview

Shriners Children’s is looking for a board-certified/eligible Pediatric Radiologist to join our team at Shriners Children’s Northern California. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading STAT and routine pediatric cases from both our inpatient and outpatient services. Imaging modalities are predominately pediatric x-ray and ultrasound with some CT imaging. Read volumes generally average around 100 studies a day and predominately focus on pediatric MSK and general pediatric cases.
This position entails a 1.0 FTE commitment with a Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm schedule with no nights, weekends, or call expected. Providers will also have the opportunity to provide teleradiology services 4 days a week with 1 day a week onsite to perform radiologist assisted procedures such as VCUG, contrast enemas, and cystograms. Compensation ranges from $414,343 to $701,946 depending on experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide radiology services by reading and interpreting pediatric x-ray and ultrasound in a timely manner.
  • Perform radiologist assisted procedures (VCUG, contrast enemas, cystogram) in a timely manner.
  • Serve as radiology medical director and radiation safety officer for the hospital
  • Communicate the results and diagnosis to physician
  • Directing radiology staff to perform diagnostic procedures on patients, as per physician orders
  • Work exclusively in pediatric imaging with no interventional responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school required.
  • Successful completion of a residency in diagnostic or general radiology required.
  • Board eligible or certified in Diagnostic Radiology with additional fellowship training in Pediatric Radiology required. Board eligible or certified in pediatric radiology highly preferred.
  • Must possess or be eligible for CA medical licensure, in addition to their state of residency.
