Job Overview

The part-time receptionist is the first impression of the hospital to incoming staff and visitors.  The receptionist operates the hospital's telephone switchboard system and assists visitors, answers the telephone, directs calls, pages and takes messages.  The receptionist greets and directs visitors, receives donations, types and performs other clerical duties.  Hours for this position are 20 hours per week - Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 12 noon.

Responsibilities

  • Answers the hospital switchboard telephone promptly and directs calls to proper individual
  • Register visitors to obtain a visitor badge
  • Greets visitors and staff courteously and with a smile, and directs them to proper personnel
  • In the absence of donor development, receives monetary and material donations
  • Assists visitors and patients with luggage

Qualifications

Education

High School diploma or GED preferred.

 

Skills

2 years receptionist experience preferred
