Job Overview

Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, this position will provide clinical pharmacy services, pharmacy teaching and pharmacy operational duties as appropriate. Maintains clinical pharmacy services on all hospital units, manages the pharmacy inventory control program and ordering of pharmaceuticals and assists in all pharmacy operations as appropriate, including supervision of the pharmacy technician staff. The Portland facility is looking for a on-call Pharmacist to join the team.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews physician's drug orders and provides quality and timely advice to ensure that they are accurate, appropriate, and complets.
  • Appropriately prepares and oversees the preparation of medications and compounded sterile products for use.
  • Conducts and oversees the preparation and dispensing of medications, guided by professional standards of practice.
  • Recommends, monitors and evaluates patient-specific pharmacotherapy.
  • Reviews controlled substance records.
  • Assumes Operational aspects of the Pharmacy Department in the Director's absence.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor Pharmacy required, PharmD preferred

Experience

  • 2 Year's Hospital Pharmacy, preferred
  • PGY-1 Residency Training or equivalent work experience, preferred

Certification and Licensure

  • Pharmacy license in state of practice, Required
