Job Overview

The Intake Coordinator coordinates all new patient application functions within the established guidelines, policies, and procedures adopted by the Patient Access Department and in accordance with the facilities policies and procedures.  Shriners Salt Lake City facility is looking for a Full-time Intake Coordinator to become a part of the team.

 

Schedule:  Full-time FTE 1.0

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Receives all new patient appointments; screening their need for treatment
  • Obtains and enters all new patient information into SHCIS
  • Assigns new patient appointment slots for verification by pre-registration
  • Provides consultation to patients and families if appointment questions arise
  • Reschedules new appointments as needs, Schedules established patients who have not been seen in clinic in over 3 years
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient information within the guidelines established by the department and hospital

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma / GED, Required

Experience

  • 3 Years Orthopedic and/or Pediatrics, Preferred
  • 1 Year Medical Terminology, Preferred

Certification and Licensures

  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Required
