Job Overview

The Child Life Specialist position is responsible for mentoring staff in the provision of comprehensive, purposeful, developmentally appropriate, and culturally sensitive, family centered care.  This care is focused on meeting the psychosocial and developmental needs of children and families.  Providing evaluation and therapeutic services, direct patient care and patient/family education in an efficient manner.  We have an opportunity for a part-time Child Life Specialist in our Spokane facility.

 

Schedule: Part-time (FTE 0.3)

 

(Pay range for this position is $24.50/hr - $36.76/hr. The hired applicant's placement within the range is based on qualifications, professional experience and education).

 

Responsibilities

  • Performs individual assessments to collect comprehensive and accurate date necessary to assess development, temperament, coping style, medical plan, cultural preferences & practices and available social supports in order to develop an individualized treatment plan
  • Ensures that intervention is compliant with department policy and the professional standards of practice
  • Plans and implements an individualized treatment plan that identifies goals and evidence-based treatment intervention strategies, with an emphasis on psychosocial and emotional needs of the patients and their families
  • Utilizes electronic medical record applications to document relevant patient and family information
  • Ensures adapted equipment and recreation equipment is safe and functioning properly
  • Performs self-reflection of personal practice and professional work activities to direct individual; and staff goals for professional growth and development

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development or related field, required

Experience

  • 1 Year Child Life, preferred

 

Certification/Licensure

  • Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS), required
