It is the world’s leading center for pediatric burn care and is the only American Burn Association (ABA) exclusively pediatric verified burn center in New England and New York.

The Boston Shriners Hospital is one of four pediatric burn specialty hospitals in Shriners Children’s health system and provide comprehensive care for cleft lip and palate, as well as other craniofacial anomalies, with a multidisciplinary care team.

Job Overview

The Administrative Assistant will ensure and efficient and effective flow of patients through the Outpatient Department and Therapeutic Services and will assist the Patient Care Staff in organizing and implementing the unit's daily activities.  This is a full time position.

Responsibilities

Monitors patient appointment check-in status & assembles patient registration information for clinical staff
Breaks down patient charts for outpatient surgery patients
Maintains department statistics and fills out monthly reports and runs reports as needed for Therapeutic Services & Outpatient departments
Monitors and maintains office supplies for the Therapeutic Services & Outpatient Departments
Completes and manages Therapeutic Services Payroll with approval of Manager
Schedules rehab patients in computer system, checks them in and out, and makes regular corrections and sets up recurring patients
Assists in scheduling, fitting and mailing of garments
Assists in maintaining a clean safe environment in the clinic setting

Answers telephones and relays messages in a professional and timely manner
Answers basic questions and takes messages about rehab patient appointments and care

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

High School diploma or GED required

 

 

Experience

3 years administrative experience required; 5 years preferred

Experience with Microsoft Office applications required

Spanish/English bilingual proficiency preferred
