Job Overview

Shriners Children’s, the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center, has an opportunity for a Cast Tech to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily activities of the cast room.
  • Responsible for preparing the cast room for each day's activity, application and removal of casts.
  • Assist the physician with cast application.
  • Applies holding casts or splints per physician protocol.
  • Assisting the medical staff as needed.
  • Ability to interrelate with children and families.

     

    This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

     

Qualifications

Required:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
6 months experience in cast application and removal required.

 

Preferred:
Two years’ casting experience preferred.
Computer and EMR experience preferred.
Scheduling experience preferred.
