Job Overview

Shriners Children’s is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant to join our team at Shriners Children’s Erie. This provider will support the continued growth of our Orthopedics service and provide orthopedic care to pediatric patients in a clinic setting. This position offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality care to children with a wide variety of both common and rare musculoskeletal conditions as part of a mission-driven, multidisciplinary team composed of physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.


Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm with no nights, holiday, weekend or call expectations. The pay range for this position is $83,549-$125,324. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments, including medical histories and physical exams, under the supervision of an attending physician
  • Assist in diagnosing and managing pediatric orthopedic conditions
  • Participate in outpatient clinics, initial and follow-up visits, and post-operative care
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, and lab work
  • Document clinical findings and treatment plans in the electronic medical record
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and home care instructions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive car
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support institutional goals

Qualifications

  • Master of Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent degree required
  • NCCPA board certification required
  • Active Pennsylvania Physician Assistant license required
  • Active DEA license required
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred
  • 2+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant in pediatrics and/or orthopedics highly preferred. New graduates will also be considered.
