Job Overview

Shriners Children’s is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our growing team and support the launch of a new orthopedic extension clinic in Vancouver, Washington. In this role, you will work closely with our pediatric orthopedic surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, coordinated care to children and adolescents with musculoskeletal conditions in an outpatient setting. This position offers the unique opportunity to play a key role in establishing our Vancouver clinic while remaining connected to the robust resources and collaborative culture of Shriners Children’s Portland. Schedule is Monday through Friday with no nights, holiday, weekend or call expectations. The pay range for this position is $130,956-$196,435. Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments, including medical histories and physical exams, under the supervision of an attending physician
  • Assist in diagnosing and managing pediatric orthopedic conditions
  • Participate in outpatient clinics, follow-up visits, and post-operative care
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, and lab work
  • Document clinical findings and treatment plans in the electronic medical record
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and home care instructions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support institutional goals

Qualifications

  • Master of Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent degree required
  • NCCPA board certification required
  • Active Oregon and Washington state Physician Assistant licenses required
  • Active DEA license required
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
  • 2+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant in pediatrics and/or musculoskeletal conditions highly preferred. New graduates with strong pediatric or musculoskeletal clinical experience will also be considered.
