Job Overview

Shriners Children’s, the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center, has an opportunity for a Patient Care Assistant II to join our team.

Responsibilities

Maintains a clean environment in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) following infection control policies and procedures. Terminally cleans OR and ancillary areas at the end of the day’s schedule. Transports patients and transports specimens to the Laboratory. Maintains supplies for cast cart. Accurately transcribes and relays messages to staff. Collaborate with Supply Chain to provide supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and casting. Assist medical staff in cast removal and application. Applies principles of professional practice model FOCUSED in the ASC.

  • Terminally clean OR and ancillary areas at the end of the day’s schedule.
  • Assist with efficient operating room turnover and ensure thorough cleaning throughout the day.
  • Manage and maintain adequate inventory levels of linens and scrub carts for the ASC.
  • Operate floor buffing equipment to clean floors on a routine basis.
  • Transport patients.
  • Ttransports specimens to the Laboratory.

This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • High School graduate or G.E.D. preferred.
  • One year’s housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards for universal precautions preferred.
