Shriners Children’s is seeking an internationally recognized, highly motivated and collaborative Research Director for a major multidisciplinary research institute that is to be established on the campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta GA. Reporting to the Shriners Children’s Vice President of Research, the Director of the Research Institute will recruit within a new stand-alone facility a critical mass of biomedical scientists and engineers, and actively participate in the planning and design of a new 150,000 sq ft facility. The Research Institute will be fully equipped with cutting-edge equipment and technologies to support wet and dry bench research activities. The Research Director will spearhead the Institute’s mission to drive discoveries from laboratory bench-to-bedside to improve the quality of life of Shriners Children’s patients. The Director of Research will oversee the research programs of 50 MD/PhD level investigators and their teams, mentor institute investigators, students, clinical and research fellows as well as visiting clinician scientists.
