Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.  We have an opportunity for a Part-Time Respiratory Therapist to join our team. (Approximately 20 hours per week)

Responsibilities

Administers respiratory care and life support to patients with abnormalities and deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system by prescription and under the supervision of a physician.  Duties include:

 

Orders
•Obtains physician's order 100% of the time prior to initiating therapy.
Patient Assessment
•Able to appropriately assess all patients before and after therapy is delivered 100% of the time. 
Routine Therapy
•Sets up all routine therapy modalities according to policy and procedure 100% of the time. 
Ventilator Therapy
•Able to set up and monitor all life support equipment according to policy and procedure 100% of the time. 
Outpatient Clinic
•Able to set up and perform EKG's on patients in a timely fashion. 
POCT
•Able to perform all POCT including controls, proficiencies and documentation. Maintain all State and Joint
Commission requirements for licensing and accreditation

Qualifications

Associate Respiratory Therapy Required

3 Years Respiratory care practitioner Required
1 Year Pediatric Critical Care Required

RT license in state of practice Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Preferred
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
