Job Overview

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center.  We have an opportunity for an full-time Administrative Assistant to support our Human Resource and Finance Departments at Shriners Children's Philadelphia.

Responsibilities

The Department Administrative Assistant supports the team through performing clerical functions such as creating letters and spreadsheets, maintaining Outlook calendars for the team, ordering supplies and supporting the leader and department.  Specific tasks include answering the department phone, reserving conference rooms, preparing reports, compliance tracking and various other duties as assigned.  This position supports both Human Resources and Fiscal Services.  

 

    •  Handles sensitive data with care and maintains confidentiality.
    • Maintains and updates staff regulatory compliance requirements
    • Maintains and follows up on onboarding tasks and documents for new hires
    • Initiates and tracks workers compensation and leave of absence cases
    •  Assists the Human Resources department in coordination of various meetings for both internal and external participants.
    •  Assumes other duties as assigned to ensure service from the Fiscal Services and Human Resources Department are at the optimum level.
    •  Demonstrates effective verbal communication with staff by presenting a positive and polite demeanor at all times.
    •  Demonstrates the ability to professionally interact and communicate appropriately with staff, patients, families, and visitors.
    •  Consistent with position and level of responsibility, demonstrates knowledge of and application of sound financial management.
    •  Performs duties in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision or direction according to defined level of responsibility.
    •  Attends and actively participates in designated Hospital and departmental meetings and training classes.

Qualifications

Education

High School diploma preferred 

 

Skills and Experience

3-5 years administrative experience in a healthcare setting preferred

Intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Suite of products
